I am riding to support the Wounded Warrior Project’s Soldier Ride because 1) never a bad time to ride, 2) can't think of a more deserving group of people to help than these veterans who have given so much and 3) support a program that promotes cycling as a means of recreation and fitness.
I want to make sure the Wounded Warriors I ride with and come into contact with know how much my generation respects, admires and thanks them for their service and sacrifice to our country.~ I want to encourage them to continue their road to full recovery by whatever means available to them.~ I want to help make that journey as rewarding and enjoyable as possible.
As a U. S. Air Force retiree with 25 years of active duty, an active U-Haul International team member for 21 years, as well as the proud dad of an active duty U. S. Air Force career service member, it gives me uncommon pride and honor to ride with and identify with our Wounded Warriors in support of the Wounded Warrior Project. These men and women represent the core of what America's freedom effort is ultimately all about, and the costs that freedom asks of us. Please join me and Team U-Haul in support of these very worthwhile Soldier Ride and Wounded Warrior Project.
Wounded Warrior Project has become more than just an organization to me. I consider them a part of my family. Being able to ride next to and interact with these true heroes is a humbling and life-changing experience. For all they do for us – this is the least I can do for them! Please make a donation to this incredible cause!
I am honored to have the opportunity to ride alongside these brave individuals. Having family both currently and in the past deployed to war, I understand the sacrifice and dedication that is required to be a member of our armed forces. If one of my family members were wounded, I would hope that they would receive the care and counseling needed to ensure their comfort back at home. It’s the least we can do.
I believe the true heroes of our day are the men and women who serve and have served in the United States armed forces. The USA is the greatest country in the world and my family appreciates all those who sacrifice everything for our freedoms and for people they have never met. It will be my profound honor to ride alongside my heroes.
After participating in the 2008 Soldier Ride, I have a great appreciation of what the men and women in the military go through to protect our freedom. I have great pride to participate in the 2009 Soldier Ride.
After seeing the amount of teamwork and support that went into finishing last year’s ride, it is all worthwhile supporting an organization that is there to help the wounded soldiers returning injured from a tour of duty.
This is my second year for Soldier Ride. What a great way to show support for our troops. They showed courage on the battlefield and courage overcoming challenges back home. It is a privilege to ride with them.
My reason for wanting to ride is, I am a 20 year retired vet of the U.S. Navy, and I really think this is a cause worth riding for. My wife is a 5 year breast cancer survivor and I get to walk with her in all of the breast cancer events, now it is my turn to be able to stand up for a cause that is near and dear to my heart. I have a younger brother that is going back in the war in Afghanistan and I pray that he comes back uninjured. I know a bunch of family and friends that have had their hearts broken with a loved one coming back injured. It is not the fault of the service member that they are there and that they got hurt, but the VA is slow, and our wounded need help. I was not able to go over during my tenure in the Navy, so to show my support for these Warriors’ this is what I can do for them.
I am participating in the Wounded Warrior Project Soldier Ride to help raise money and awareness for our wounded veterans. We're trying to raise wounded warrior awareness so people will understand that by making donations, there is something they can do to support the troops. It is important that we ensure our veterans are being cared for at the same level in which they performed their duty for us.
It's been an honor and a privilege to be able to ride with these brave young men and women who have faced and conquered the adversities of their injuries. They make me proud every time I see them ride and they're an inspiration to all of us.
I am eager to participate in Soldier Ride to give thanks and support to all wounded soldiers in the past, present and future. My brother Jordan Mayural is active duty Air Force and is currently stationed at Camp Lemonnier, Djibouti, Africa. He and I both lead active life styles and strongly believe in the physical and mental health benefits of living an active lifestyle. Not only do I support all soldiers but also the approach that Soldier Ride takes to rehabilatate wounded soldiers through physical activity. I am proud to be able to support and promote Solider Ride a program of the highest level of integrity. Thank you Soldier Ride for supporting the wounded heroes of freedom and all who have given in the name of freedom!
I have been cycling for several years. I have enjoyed providing my support to the soldiers in all the Soldier Rides I have done, and it is an honor to ride along side them.
I am honored to again have the opportunity to ride with these heroes during the 2009 Phoenix ride. Over the past three years, I have met so many men and women with such great spirit despite their injuries, and I truly consider it an honor to work with the Wounded Warrior Project and be able to experience Soldier Ride first hand. Soldier Ride is meant to raise awareness for those who have selflessly given so that we can have. My family, friends and I owe our freedom to these brave individuals and we can never give enough thanks for their sacrifice and service.
First and foremost, I would like to say Thank You to all the service men and women still fighting to protect our freedom. Having spent twenty two years in the U. S. Army, I truly appreciate what all of our warriors are going through today. Secondly, to our Wounded Warriors, YOU ARE THE HEART OF OUR MILITARY. You have sacrificed so much that words will never express how grateful we are to you. To the ones who have departed our eternal gratitude goes to you. We sleep peacefully at night because of you. One day we will all meet again in that great big PX in the sky. Thank you for allowing me to serve alongside you for so long. Thank You for allowing me the honor and privilege of joining you on the Soldier Ride.
As a former member of the US Navy, a current member of the US Coast Guard Auxiliary and coming from a family with a strong military background, it is my honor to ride with these wounded warriors in support of the Wounded Warrior Project. These men and women represent what America's freedom effort is all about. The Soldier Ride is a program of Wounded Warrior Project and is a rehabilitative sports event for the wounded warriors, but it is much more than that. For many of these combat-wounded veterans it is a way to return to an active lifestyle. So please join me and Team U-Haul in support of our Armed Forces, veterans and the Wounded Warrior Project Soldier Ride.
